• With the gentle sound of the stream as background music, enjoy spotting the unusual rock formations—some of which appeared in Journey to the West. Time seems to slow down in this peaceful setting.

At shops or small restaurants near the end of the trail. Try local specialties such as kudzu starch dessert or stir-fried rock fungus with egg, both unique to the Zhangjiajie region.

• Tianmen Cave: A massive natural arch near the summit. Climb 999 steps to reach the “Gate to Heaven” and experience its immense scale.
• Glass Skywalk: A thrilling glass-floored walkway on the edge of a sheer cliff. Walk above the valley and take in the magnificent panoramic landscape beneath your feet.
