• The origins of "Hundred Gold Street": Chunxi Road was originally built in 1924 by Yang Sen, a Sichuan warlord, as "Shenwei Road." It subsequently developed into a commercial street, and was given the name "Chunxi Road" after the proverb "Xilai Jowang, ryuu tai chuntai" (people coming and going, as if climbing the platform of spring).
• Changing face: The streetscape was once lined with brick buildings, but with the passage of time, it has been redeveloped and now features modern skyscrapers and long-established shops that exude history, symbolizing the transition of Chengdu.
